Three great Chicago musicians from diverse performance backgrounds address this musical love letter to the great George Gershwin. Clarinetist Kathryne Pirtle, pianist and composer Miguel De La Cerna, and jazz vocalist Morgan Pirtle will combine to perform Rhapsody in Blue, Summertime, and lesser known gems from Gershwin’s amazing songs. Kathryne Pirtle is the clarinetist in the Orion Ensemble and the Principal Clarinetist in the Lake Forest Symphony. Miguel De La Cerna is everywhere – teaching at Columbia College, conducting musicals, composing, and performing in jazz events all over the country. Morgan Pirtle is a rising star in Chicago’s jazz scene, with great contributions as a composer and arranger, in addition to her swinging vocal talents.
